The Story of Dataline

Sometime in 1981, the late Richard Fiore was selling an innovative product called a "Sound Enclosure". At the time many companies used high speed dot matrix printers that were located in the middle of work areas. Richard was responsible for providing silencing relief to companies all over Central New York, especially to the people who were situated right next to the printer in the work area. Richard built a strong business relationship with all of his customers by paying attention to detail and having a customer first attitude. Soon Richard started fielding requests for items traditional "office supply" companies did not offer that the time such as IBM printer ribbons, daisy wheels, mag tapes and floppy disks. Richard found a source and was able to save customers over 50% off the prices they were paying when they bought these same items direct from IBM.

It was only a matter of time before people all over the area were calling Richard for this new breed off "office technology supplies" The calls became so frequent that Richard turned his house into an order center, employing family members to assist with the calls. Richard bough a nation wide list of IBM users and sent them a simple one page sale sheet. The rest is history and Dataline was born.

As Dataline grew Richard took great care to surround himself with people that shared the same positive "can do" attitude that was pivotal to his success. He taught them the business and shared his knowledge with them, not only in business but in life.

Over 29 years later, Dataline has expanded its product line from 50 items to over 24,000 items. Dataline still prides itself on its superior customer service and its ability to treat each and every customer as an individual with individual needs.
